What Is Gauth AI? Features, Pricing & How It Works

Gauth AI is an AI-powered study companion designed to help students understand homework questions, work through problems step by step, and study across subjects including math, physics, chemistry, biology and more. It began as Gauthmath and was rebranded to Gauth in 2024 as the product expanded beyond math.

Today, Gauth is more than a photo-based homework solver. Its ecosystem includes Gauth AI, Gauth AI Pro, AI Live Tutor, human tutor support, Gauth Atlas, AI Courses, a large practice-question library and study tools available across web and mobile.

Quick Answer

Gauth AI is an AI study assistant that can solve and explain academic questions from text or images. It provides step-by-step explanations, supports multiple subjects, offers AI tutoring and human expert help, and includes newer learning features such as Gauth Atlas and AI Courses. A free plan is available, while Gauth Plus adds broader access to premium features.

What Is Gauth AI?

Gauth AI is the core AI study assistant inside Gauth. Students can type a question, upload an image or use the mobile app to scan a problem, then receive an explanation and worked solution.

Gauth’s own product pages position it as a study companion rather than simply an answer generator. The platform focuses on showing solving steps and explaining why each step works.

According to the official Gauth About page, the product began from an effort to help students solve difficult problems step by step. Gauth says it upgraded Gauthmath to Gauth in 2024 as AI allowed the service to support more subjects and capabilities.

How Does Gauth AI Work?

The basic workflow is simple:

1. Type a question or upload a photo of the problem.
2. Gauth identifies the question and subject.
3. The AI generates a solution and explanation.
4. You can review the steps rather than only seeing the final answer.
5. Depending on the feature and plan, you may continue with AI tutoring, practice tools or expert support.

The mobile app also supports camera-based input, making it useful for printed worksheets, textbook questions and handwritten problems that can be recognized clearly.

What Subjects Does Gauth AI Support?

Gauth is best known for math and STEM help, but its current product has expanded beyond its original Gauthmath focus.

Current Gauth and app listings highlight support for subjects and topic areas such as:

• Arithmetic and pre-algebra
• Algebra
• Geometry
• Trigonometry
• Precalculus
• Calculus
• Statistics and probability
• Linear algebra and matrices
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology
• Business-related questions
• Social sciences and additional subjects

The exact strength of an answer can vary by subject and question complexity, so students should still check important calculations, sources and explanations rather than assuming every AI-generated result is correct.

What Is Gauth AI Pro?

Gauth AI Pro is the premium AI solution layer promoted inside the Gauth Plus membership. Gauth presents it as a higher-end option for more advanced and accurate solutions compared with limited free access.

Rather than treating Gauth AI Pro as a completely separate app, it is better understood as a premium capability within the wider Gauth ecosystem.

For the exact free-plan limits, current Plus pricing and trial details, see our Gauth AI pricing and Gauth Plus guide.

What Is Gauth AI Live Tutor?

AI Live Tutor is a more interactive feature than the normal answer screen. Current Gauth app descriptions say students can ask questions by voice and see concepts explained on a virtual whiteboard.

This makes the feature closer to conversational tutoring: instead of receiving only a static worked answer, a student can follow an explanation in a more guided format.

Does Gauth Have Real Human Tutors?

Yes. Gauth combines AI with human expert support. The company says thousands of real tutors are available around the clock and promotes expert assistance for questions that need more personalized guidance.

Gauth currently advertises 50,000 verified experts and says its tutor service can handle some of the most difficult questions. Those figures are company-reported rather than an independent measurement.

What Is Gauth Atlas?

Gauth Atlas is a newer visual learning feature. Instead of presenting a subject only as text, Atlas turns a topic into an explorable visual experience where users can click into related details and continue following their curiosity.

Gauth says Atlas is grounded in sources and that images can be traced back to real source material. The free and paid plans currently receive different Atlas credit allowances.

Because Atlas has a distinct interface and usage model, we cover it separately in our Gauth Atlas guide.

What Are Gauth AI Courses?

AI Courses are Gauth’s structured learning experience for students who want more than one-off answers. Current Gauth pages include subject-based course content, and the platform is expanding visual learning features around narrated lessons, interactive material and quizzes.

Free users receive standard access to AI Courses, while Gauth Plus advertises premium course access.

We explain the newer course system in more depth in our Gauth AI Courses guide.

Is Gauth AI Free?

Gauth has a free plan. However, the free tier does not provide unlimited access to every feature.

The current official Gauth Plus page lists limited answer access, limited Gauth AI Pro solutions, limited AI queries, standard AI Course access, 10 Atlas credits per month and limited access to the question bank on the free plan.

Gauth Plus expands those limits and adds unlimited or premium access in several areas. Current standard web pricing is $11.99 for one month, $31.99 for three months and $99.99 for 12 months, with a three-day trial shown for eligible subscriptions. Prices and offers can vary by platform or account.

What Does Gauth Plus Include?

Current Plus benefits include:

• Unlimited access to answers
• Broader Gauth AI Pro access
• Unlimited Gauth AI queries
• Premium access to AI Courses
• 100 Gauth Atlas credits per month
• Broader access to the 100M+ question bank
• Additional premium study and tutoring benefits depending on the app and region

The pricing page is the better place to evaluate whether Plus is worthwhile because subscription offers can change more frequently than the core Gauth product.

Gauth AI vs Gauthmath: Are They the Same?

Gauth is the successor to Gauthmath. The company says Gauthmath was upgraded to Gauth in 2024 because the platform had expanded beyond math and could support more subjects and more advanced AI capabilities.

You may still see the older Gauthmath name in support emails, legacy URLs, app-store metadata and older articles. For current product searches, Gauth or Gauth AI is the more useful name.

Where Can You Use Gauth?

Gauth is available through the web and mobile apps. Current Gauth subscription information says access works across desktop, mobile and web.

The mobile app is available for iPhone/iPad and Android, while the web version can be used directly in a browser.

For platform requirements, app-store details and the official download paths, see our Gauth app and download guide.

How Popular Is Gauth?

Gauth is a large consumer education app rather than a small experimental AI product. Google Play currently shows more than 100 million downloads, while the U.S. App Store lists around 1.5 million ratings and a 4.8-star average.

Those figures show broad adoption, but app-store ratings should not be treated as proof that every answer is accurate or that every user will find the subscription worthwhile.

Is Gauth AI Accurate?

No AI homework helper should be assumed to be perfectly accurate. Gauth emphasizes step-by-step explanations, which makes it easier to inspect the reasoning than if the product returned only a final answer.

For schoolwork that affects grades, a sensible approach is to use Gauth to understand or check work, then verify important calculations, factual claims and citations with your course materials.

Our Gauth AI review looks separately at strengths, limitations, accuracy evidence and subscription concerns without pretending we performed tests we did not actually conduct.

Gauth AI vs ChatGPT

Gauth and ChatGPT overlap, but they are designed around different starting points. Gauth is built specifically around study help, photo-based questions, step-by-step homework explanations and tutoring features. ChatGPT is a broader general-purpose AI assistant that also handles writing, coding, research-style questions and many non-academic tasks.

Which is better depends on whether you want a dedicated student workflow or a broader conversational AI tool. Our Gauth AI vs ChatGPT comparison handles that intent separately.

Are There Alternatives to Gauth AI?

Yes. Depending on the subject and the way you prefer to study, alternatives include math-first solvers, AI tutors, broad study platforms and general-purpose AI assistants.

The best replacement depends on whether your priority is photo solving, math accuracy, study notes, human tutoring, conversational explanations or price. We compare those options in our best Gauth AI alternatives guide.

Is Gauth AI Meant to Replace Studying?

Gauth itself states that the product is intended to support learning rather than replace a student’s own work. That is also the more useful way to use an AI study tool.

Simply copying a final answer can hide mistakes and does little to prepare you for a similar problem later. The strongest use case is to inspect the steps, identify where your own work diverged and use follow-up explanations or tutoring when a concept remains unclear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Final Thoughts

Gauth AI has evolved from a math-focused photo solver into a broader AI study platform. The core experience is still fast homework help with worked explanations, but the current product also includes interactive AI tutoring, human experts, Gauth Atlas, AI Courses, a large question bank and cross-platform access.

For students who mainly want to understand a difficult question and see the steps, the free tier may be enough to evaluate the product. Gauth Plus becomes more relevant when you need higher limits, premium AI features, more Atlas credits or expanded course and question-bank access.
